Finding a post

Start with what you need and where you want to look.

Search and location

Choose a starting point

On the website, your profile picture or Account and menu button opens a full-screen floating menu. Its permitted groups are shown immediately and can be collapsed individually. Close or Escape returns to the page; unfinished work still requires Stay or Discard before leaving. Choose Search at the top right to open the search bar. Cancel or Escape closes it. Home, Search and category pages share this one query field; there is no second page search bar. Search for the item or service, or browse a category. Submitting a query keeps the field ready to refine; changing the view keeps unfinished text. Category pictures illustrate the section, not live posts. On the website, choosing a category keeps your selected area, search text and common filters, and starts at the first results page. Main categories and the selected category’s subcategories have separate sliding rows on phones, tablets and desktop. Swipe them on touch screens, or grab and drag with a mouse or pen to see more. Dragging the row does not open a category; choose its link to open it. Choose All followed by the category name to return to that category. Category breadcrumb links on larger screens also keep your area and common search filters. Filters specific to the previous category are cleared; check the options shown for your new category. The home discovery slideshow advances automatically until you interact. Swipe to move in either direction. Keyboard users can focus the slideshow and use the arrow keys; Space pauses or resumes it, and a pause or resume button appears when focused. Interaction pauses automatic changes. Reduced-motion settings keep changes manual. The pictures illustrate categories, not live posts or personalised recommendations. Choose Explore to open the category, scroll the category row or choose All categories. Home search opens from the top-right Search button. Use its location control, or Location beside Filters on a board, to choose an area. Check the selected place and distance before judging the results.

If location is unavailable

You can choose a place without sharing your device location. A denied permission or failed location read does not mean there are no posts nearby. Check the area shown and use the available location controls.

Narrow the results

On the website, the post count and controls share one row: Location, Filters, Sort, View, then Save this search when signed in. The Filters button is highlighted when filters are applied. Removable filter chips appear below the results count and controls. Swipe or grab this row to review them; Clear filters stays beside the row and keeps your area. Grid and Map are direct choices. Choose either view, use arrow keys, or hold and drag the selection between them. Compact controls use icons; their accessible names include the current sort and view. Labels appear when the results column has room. The full count stays available, including a plus when it is a capped total. Save this search asks for a name and how often to receive matches. Its fields stay in place when you resize the window; Escape returns focus to its button. Pending confirmation is not a saved result. Use Location and Filters to choose your area and the options relevant to the category. On the website, opening a filter moves focus into its panel. For a single-choice radio group, Tab enters or leaves the group; the arrow keys change the selected option and Space selects the focused option. Multiple-choice checkboxes remain separate Tab stops. Back returns to that filter’s row and keeps pending choices. Reset clears that group; Clear clears all pending filters. Show applies the choices. Escape closes the sheet without applying pending changes. On a phone, review your choices before showing the results. An unavailable new count is not a confirmed count of zero. Clear individual filters if your search becomes too narrow.

Check and return

Read the details and currency

The small double-chevron boost icon identifies a promoted post; it is not an endorsement. Its accessible name is Boosted. On the website and app, it appears on the photo without replacing Save. Open the post to check its description, photos, approximate location and current status. The price stays in the currency chosen for that post; it is not converted to your currency.

Saved posts

Sign in to save a post. On the website, choose the heart at the top to open Saved; signed-out visitors are asked to log in. You can also expand Account in your account menu and choose Saved. You can also open Saved from your dashboard. In the app, the header heart opens Saved from browsing, search, categories, public profiles and post details. Saved posts in Account remains available. Sign in to read your saved posts; use Back to return. Editing, messaging and payment screens keep their existing exits. A waiting icon means confirmation is pending. On the website, a confirmed removal moves keyboard focus to the next remaining heart, the preceding heart if there is no next post, or the Saved region when none remain. If you move on while waiting, focus stays with your new work. If changes are not confirmed, keep the page open and follow its explanation. Reading again does not repeat a save or removal. A post may have changed, sold or expired since you saved it. Open it again before arranging a meeting.

An unavailable view is not an empty collection

Use the recovery control shown on the page. Do not remove and save posts again to try to repair a reading problem.

Return to the board

Use Back to return to the board. Search and filter choices are represented in its URL, so keep that link to revisit or share the same search.
