Cookies and device storage

The information PoundPost stores on your browser or phone, why it is there and how to remove it.

Updated 7 September 2026

Sign-in cookies

The website uses Supabase sign-in cookies, with names beginning sb-, to keep your session and complete sign-in. The current library sets a maximum cookie lifetime of 400 days, refreshed as the session changes. Your session can end earlier. Signing out removes the current browser’s sign-in cookies. Blocking them prevents sign-in from working.

Remembering your choices

Browser storage remembers your theme in pp-theme and up to five recent places in pp.places. These stay until replaced or you clear site data. They let the site reopen with your chosen appearance and location.

Drafts and payment retries

pp:composer-draft stores an unfinished post on your browser. The app discards it when it next reads a draft more than 14 days old. Temporary payment operation references let a retry find the same credit action without charging again. They are cleared when that action settles. Clearing site data can remove unfinished drafts.

Offline files and phone storage

The website can cache its offline page, fonts and icons. It does not cache private conversation or account pages for offline use. The phone app stores sign-in credentials in device secure storage. Notification permission and delivery subscriptions are also stored by your browser or phone.

Payment, maps and security services

Payment fields, map requests and any enabled anti-abuse checks connect to their providers when you use those features. Those providers can receive device and connection information and may use their own storage. Their privacy information is linked below.

Your controls

Use your browser’s site settings to inspect or clear cookies, storage and notification permission for PoundPost. On a phone, use the app’s Settings and your device settings. Clearing local storage does not delete information held in your PoundPost account. Use Account deletion for the account closure options.
